Three Minute Paper: Chat GBT and Science Communication (10-11am)
March 25, 2025 @ 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
We would love to invite you to the STEM SIG’s Three Minute Paper discussion and AGM on Tuesday 25 March.
In this STEM SIG event, we will summarise Schäfer’s (2023) key points about Chat GBT and science communication, and then use this as a springboard to discuss related issues:
- From your research/use of AI/observations of its use, do you agree with the positives and negatives of GenAI given by Schäfer (2023)? Are there any you would add/remove?
- Do you think GenAI offers an equal experience across STEM fields?
- Is there a difference in how to communicate effectively with AI (versus humans)? If so, should this be taught?
- How can we support students to embrace the opportunities of generative AI for STEM communication?
- How can we support students to understand and tackle the risks of GenAI for STEM communication?
